These standards help to identify what must be done to eliminate barriers for people with disabilities. A decision that ultimately helps us all. The five standards are: Information and Communication, Employment, Transportation, Design of Public Spaces, and Customer Service.

What are disability barriers?
Under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA), a barrier is anything that prevents a person with a disability from fully participating in their community.
Barriers limit access:
To places and activities, because of the way it is designed.
To the things people with disabilities can do.
To the places they can go.

The Town of Milton needs your feedback to assist in the development of the 2023-2028 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan. The plan will outline how the Town will prevent and remove barriers that people with disabilities may face in our programs, services, and facilities. Your input is important as we create this plan to continue to improve on our services to all our residents and staff.
Select the following link Town of Milton 2018-2023 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan to view our last Plan. This plan outlines the compliance timelines and requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA), up to the end of 2022.

As Milton Transit accessibility improves, everyone benefits. We need your feedback to assist in the development of the 2023 Milton Transit Accessibility Plan. The plan will identify barriers and establish strategies to prevent and remove barriers that people with disabilities may face while using our service.
