Located alongside the Milton Sports Centre on Santa Maria Boulevard, the Milton Community Sports Park has two baseball diamonds that are generically named ‘Milton Community Park #1’ and ‘Milton Community Park #2’.

Earlier this year, a motion was presented to Town Council to rename these two baseball diamonds after two individuals who championed the development of minor baseball in Milton.

Late Miltonian, Peter McMullen, helped to pioneer the development of minor baseball in Milton, served as the President of the Ontario Baseball Association and also served as President of the Halton County Baseball Association.

Glenn Turner,a life-long Miltonian who has dedicated his life to the sport of baseball. He coached Milton’s juvenile and junior-level teams for 15 years and is the current Milton Red Sox general manager, a title he has held for the past 37 years. As general manager, the Milton Red Sox won four Ontario Baseball Association championships. Turner takes great pride in the maintenance of baseball diamonds in Milton and also served as an advisor to the Town in the creation of the diamonds at Milton Community Park.
