Short-term rentals

Short-term rentals (for example, Airbnb) have become a fast growing industry in the last few years. The Town of Milton has seen a rise in the number of short-term rentals operating within the community. The Town completed a short-term rentals study to explore options and determine how to regulate short-term rentals.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the study. At its June 20, 2022 meeting, Milton Council approved a short-term rentals licensing by-law and Zoning By-law amendments. For more information, visit the short-term rentals web page.

What are short-term rentals?

Short-term rentals are considered a type of accommodation where an individual rents a residence, or a portion of a residence, for a short period of time, generally through internet platforms such as Airbnb, VRBO and HomeAway.
